Update on our new home

We finished painting our front room the day we left for Christmas. It turned out so nice. WE still have a few things to do like baseboard and curtains, but it is livable and I LOVE IT! Thanks to Bryce for coming and helping paint. The bathroom got tiled today and so soon we will have our bathroom done. Here are just a few pictures of the process. Oh by the way I love my couches to, they are totally better than a futon.

Getting ready for Christmas

Since Jordan and I have been married we have not had a real Christmas tree, this year we have a home, so we got one. It is kind of small and set up in our bedroom since our front room is not done. I love it so much. I made a tree skirt out of cotton and burlap and it turned out cute. I think I need to add more to it so it is bigger. I also made burlap stockings and they turned out super cute. Josie had fun decorating the tree, but likes to take the ornaments off, so we gave her a cute little tree she can do whatever she wants with. Merry Christmas. We also woke up to snow. Love it!!!!

I made some ornaments of all the different names of Christ and printed them on vellum. It turned out quite nice and reminds us of the tree meaning of Christmas.

Merry Everything!!!

For those who did not get one here it is!

The first week of December

So Every year Helper has a Electric Light Parade. We got to see it for the first time on Friday. It was one of the coolest things ever. It was snowing and so beautiful and we got to see tons of lights. The next night there were fireworks. Such a cool Christmas tradition here in our little town of Helper.

So Daivanie is spending the week with us and we are having fun. Josie is not used to sharing her stuff at all so it has been an interesting time. She has started to scream every time something is not right. Ugh, what happened to my peace and quiet. Here are some pictures of the girls. Things we have done: Parade, Popcorn at Sutherlands, Fireworks, Homemade ornaments, nativity cutouts, paper snowmen, dress-ups, and lots of books!

We tried Bountiful Baskets for the first time this weekend and were very impressed. Look at all this food. All for $15, we also got a 21lb. box of clementine tangerines, so if anyone wants some, come and get them. I love fresh food. We got some butter lettuce and it was really good.

I haven't posted a video for a while and finally got Josie do her little jabbering that is so cute. Her dad is reading books to her, which is her number 1 favorite thing to do.

Sorry the video is sideways, I can't seem to remember which way it goes. :) Oh and tomorrow we get to find out whether baby #2 is a boy or girl!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving in San Diego

My family went to San Diego for Thanksgiving to see my sister play soccer in a tournament. Tons of fun. We drove down with my sister and her family and it was quite the drive. A 4,2,and 1 year old all in the same vehicle. We survived and enjoyed our time in sunny California.Camille and Bart were the brave ones who went swimming in the ocean. They really were just crazy, but it was fun to see them jumping in the waves. Even the surfers were wearing wet suits.

Unloading food from the shopping carts. We pulled off a pretty nice thanksgiving dinner for being in a small kitchen with no supplies.
Della and Josie.
Watching a soccer game. We got to see 3 games 2 wins and 1 tie. Yeah Cami

Jordan being silly
The four of us went to the museum of the retired air craft carrier The U.S.S. Midway. So cool and fun and once in a lifetime experience.
This is on top of the midway, looking back at the city. You can't even tell we were on a giant ship, looks just like a long road.
Told Jordan he should have gone into the Navy and been a Pilot
On the midway looking out over the bay. Beautiful!!! San Diego was where Jordan and I went on our Honeymoon almost 3 1/2 years ago. It was fun seeing all the places we went and things we did.

On Thanksgiving night we went to the Mormon Battalion visitors center. It the our first time seeing it with it newly remodeled. So cool especially the Harry Potter like talking photos. They took our picture and gave us a copy for free. My sister Calista and my grandparents both served their mission to this visitors center.
Family Photo

I don't think Josie knew exactly what it was.
The Pier was just down the way from where we were staying and it was a enjoyable sight at night with the sun setting on the ocean.
The picture we took to announce baby # 2 for our Christmas cards. It took several tries but I think it turned out cute.

We found all kinds of things in the tide pools: starfish, sea anemone, crabs, sucker fish, sea stars, mollusks and had fun seeing how they work.

The view from the condo
Swimming in the pool. Josie was scared but loved splashing.

Celebrating a Life

We had the chance to go down to Kanab, Ut for the funeral of Jordan's Grandfather Shirrel who he was named after. It was a great time to be with family and celebrate the life of an amazing man.

We totally saw a house with its OWN windmill in the backyard. Loved it! Maybe one day I will have a windmill in my backyard.

October

OCTOBER

General Conference: We went and spent a day with my family and a day with Jordan's family. It was great to be with family and listen to conference. Josie had fun playing with Johnny. For girls night out, Mary gave us girls makeovers. It was lots of fun, complete with fake eyelashes.

We closed on our house on October 6. We then proceeded to try and do some remodeling. It is still a work in progress, but the kitchen finally looks nice. Thanks to my mom and Bart for all their hard work. I finished some curtains and decorated some towels to match.

Over UEA weekend my family came down and helped pack and do some work on the house, and then the last part of the weekend Jordan's family came down and helped us move. We got a lot done and had some good times. Thanks for all the help everyone. (sorry no pics of my family)

Book Pictures: Josie loves books more than ever and we are amazed how she can last for hours looking at books. She will even wake up and start reading before she gets out of bed. So cute!

Leaves: We love having a large yard and the first thing we got to enjoy were the leaves. When I was about Josie's age I had a whole bunch of pictures taken in the leaves and I love those pictures, so I tried to duplicate the memory with Josie.

Halloween:
Carving pumpkins

We went to a Ward Halloween party, Jordan's family party and Trick or Treating on Halloween. Lots of Fun. I made Josie's costume and she looked like such a cute Ladybug. The ruffle dress took forever though. Jordan and I dressed up as Minions from Despicable Me. It was fun and turned out pretty good.

Josie with all her candy. She loved it!

At the ward Halloween party

Josie and Brielle had fun together and it will be fun
to see them play now that they are older. They walked
around the yard holding hands. Cute!!!!

Some stray cats ended up at Grandpa Yates', the kids loved them!!!!

Random:
Sunday in our new ward.

Busy Bag Exchange: I have been working on activities to take to a busy bag exchange and I got to go and got so much fun stuff. Josie is having a hay day doing them. Jordan even joined in on the fun.

Such a wonderful month, but I hope November is a little less busy.
